Here’s my review, this is the best ever by they way and I’ve been on a ton.

My girlfriend and I started the day excited to catch some Georgia seafood on a crisp, orange-sunned Friday morning. Captain Jack was waiting for us at the marina. I was wondering if everything would work out alright because I had only talked to Captain Jack on the phone from New York. He asked what I was looking for, and I told him, “I want to have a fishing adventure.” Being the true professional that Capt. Jack is, he asked what kind of fish I was looking to catch. I told him that I’d love some flounder and redfish. Point being, I want to fish, and then eat my catch! He calmly said to me in that southern Georgia tone of his, “I think we can do that for you, Zack. Let’s fish and have some fun, cuz that’s what it’s all about.”

I was all in.

Anyway, my girlfriend Kate and I met Captain Jack and took off in his boat, which was perfect for the day. Fast winds blew over our faces as dolphins, aligators, and tons of bait fish amazed us until we reached our destination. We were finally at Captain Jack’s special fishing hole.

We set up at Captain Jack’s spot and started to cast out. I could see it. Capt. Jack is a professsional. I didn’t understand before watching him, but, he feels and knows the currents of the water! He feels where the fish will be!! He showed me how they move. At the same time, he helped Kate, who is a novice, get up to speed on how to fish in this beautiful Georgian environment. Wouldn’t you know it?, Kate pulled up a gigantic three pound flounder in seconds! This was not only the most exciting thing ever, but, also made me feel like my Kate, who isn’t an avid fisher, feel the fun of the fish! Good stuff!

After that it was bonkers. We caught black drum (great fight by the way!), redfish!, more flounder! (Ate the hell out of them later in the day!), stingray! (let them go, quickly!), and a blue crab that was so strong it bent my hook! Adventure, adventure, adventure!

Other than that, we saw more alligators, dolphins, and pelicans that dive head first and end up plucking fish straight out of the water! It was not only an amazing fishing trip but also some great nature sightseeing!

Captain Jack, on the arrival to our marina on the end of our trip, filleted our flounder. We took them straight to The Flying Fish restaurant (Capt. Jack recommended!) where they blackened and grilled our catch of the day. Holy mackerel, that was the perfect end to our awesome experience!!

Ok, sorry I wrote so much but this is the way to go!!! A day I will never forget! Capt. Jack is the man! Thank you so much, Capt. Jack! FISH ON!!!!

My fifteen year old son, and I chartered a half day trip with Capt. Jack. Had a wonderful time, caught alot of fish, Capt. Jack is very knowledgable of the area, caught a fish with just about every cast. Caught alot of shark and whiting. Although the highlight of the trip was the stingray my son caught, Capt. Jack said it was approx. fifty pounds. I will recommend Capt. Jack, but only if you want to have a great time and catch lots of fish. Thanks Capt. Jack for the great experience, Myles is still talking about it. FISH ON, Rusty Cheney

Hello Captain Jack,

I have been revisiting my fishing experience with some of friends, I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed my trip. You are a true professional and the hospitality was a welcomed bonus. I don’t know if our paths will ever cross again, but I wanted you to know how much I appreciated the day of fishing with you and my family.

Merry Christmas!

Jeff Enfield (Rocky’s brother)

Captain Jack,

I wanted to say thanks again for the wonderful time you showed me fishing. It’s still hard to believe that I hit a fish…flounder, blue or trout, on just about every cast. Then to catch the two Bonnet head sharks, on light tackle, was quite a finale! I quickly picked up on how carefully you handled all the fish from your special net, to hook removal, to back into the water. I told you how I use a technique called…CPR… Catch, Photograph, Release. I think if more people practice some of the things you and I do as fishermen, there will be fish around for our grandchildren. Thanks again for the great time and I’ll see you again next year. Sincerely, Cliff AveryDallas, GAJack: Just wanted to thank you once again for the great time we had on our last trip. This was either our fourth or fifth charter with you and while all have been great experiences, this last one was the best so far. We caught a cooler full of large speckled trout as well as a nice flounder and black drum. I think we caught around 10 red fish as well, of which we kept one and released the rest. The highlight for me was the 14 lb striper that I caught and released in one of the back creeks. It was a real experience catching such a variety of fish on the same day. My brother told me that this was the best day that he has ever had on the water and we look forward to doing it again soon.

Thanks,

Capt. Jack,

Jonathan and I sure did enjoy our trip. He will be talking about the shark for a couple of weeks. We are already looking forward to doing it again.

I think we got a bite each time. I heard him tell some of his friends that we landed about a 100 fish, but only kept the ones we wanted. This is not far from the truth. GREAT TRIP!!

Jack:

I received the photos you sent from our charter with you. Just wanted to say thanks and to tell you how much we enjoyed the fishing trip. My son Mike, my father-in-law Sam, and I have been fishing together since Mike was about 4 yrs. old. Sam is now 85 yrs. old and I don’t know how many more trips we will have together but fishing in Savannah with you will be a pleasant memory. Thanks again for a nice trip and if I ever get back to Savannah I will keep you in mind for another charter.

Thanks
Jim Harper

Captain Jack,

I just wanted to say thank you for two days of great fishing. My dad will remember that large spot tail bass he caught for a long time (I think that is his largest fish ever). The boat was excellent, pretty smooth riding for a bay boat in that chop.

I really appreciated your professionalism and hope to fish with you again in the near future.

Also, thanks for staying out that extra hour the last day.

Jack, I just wanted to send an Email to let you know what a wonderful time myself and my family had this past weekend on the charter. We hope to see you again around April 2004. Thanks again for everything.
